We currently require a qualified practitioner to join our team, providing high quality child care and education for children aged 2 – 4 years. Ideally, you will be a cheerful, enthusiastic, creative, caring and responsible person, who enjoys the challenges of inspiring and motivating young children, to ensure they each achieve their individual potential, whilst having fun! You should be conscientious, hard working, reliable, and able to act on your own initiative, to facilitate the smooth running of the nursery at all times. This position will suit someone with experience of working within the EYFS, in a pre-school or nursery setting, wishing to take a more responsible role. You will need to hold an NVQ level 3 qualification, or higher, in childcare, and preferably have some post qualification experience. You should have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and be confident with writing observations, recording progress, and planning activities on a daily basis. You will be Key Person to your own small group of children, but must also be confident to engage with up to 20 children during a typical session, initiating suitable activities to ensure they remain motivated and inspired to learn as they play, in a happy, safe and caring environment. You will share all tasks, on a rotational basis, with other staff, including cleaning, preparation and tidying up. The position is for up to 29 hours per week, during school term times only. Hours are as follows: Monday & Friday 8.15am – 12.25pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 8.15am – 3.10pm. Good rates of pay, dependant on experience and qualification, following initial trial period. An Enhanced Disclosure will be required.
